This basically entailed travelling to the various beaches and small towns up and down the coast.
Here's some pics to date in a slide show, taken during that time:
Points to Note
- The beach at Whitesands, whilst pretty, bans dogs for the Summer season and has a £3 car parking fee (we must be getting 'tight' in our old age)
- The Sloop Inn pub at Porthgain offers better value grub, so we were told in hindsight, than the harbour front bistro which served (slowly) Fish and Chips with a cup of chaa and a can of coke for £12.45 each! It'll take me years to recover from that!
Upon arriving back it seemed the site manager had pulled a fast one on my wife and had sold her a "storm strap" (a flat, webbed strap that goes across the front of the awning to hold it down in high winds).
This was done on the pretext that the "tail end of Hurricane Bill" was about to hit the site overnight having done some damage over on the east coast of Canada.
Surely not! A ploy to sell us something we didn't need?
Let's see in another caper post.
