Woodhall Spa: A Day at the Beach

Now before you start posting comments, yes I know that the CC Club site of Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire isn't on the coast.

However Skegness or 'Skeggie' about 30 miles from the site, is. This is where yesterday, we chose to take Lucy, our 7 month old pup, for her first taste of the sea and a romp along a beach.

Skegness itself is a typical British seaside holiday town with its rows of 'statics', scraggy looking pubs, amusement arcades and sea front shops selling the usual seaside tat. However we weren't there for those delights but for Skeggie's main enduring feature above and beyond a large off-shore and majestic looking wind farm; namely its long and sandy beach which was surprisingly quiet given it was a Bank Holiday Monday and sunny, if somewhat breezy.

So having avoided another bout of puppy-puke brought on by the journey (Lucy suffers from car sickness a lot), we parked up on the North-side and got ready to make the introduction

The tide was out so the feeling of space was immense, something Lucy picked up on straight away as she ste off chasing about like a pup possessed! But not after making her first deposit of the day. Out with the pooper bags.

Did she enjoy the experience? Judge for yourself with the slide show below.

After an hour or so, an ice-cream and a burger each, (for us, not the dog) we were in the car on the way back to the site, stopping off at very chilly Tescos in Horncastle on the way for supplies.

Another Woodhall Spa Post soon.

Oh - by the way - those are my feet above after paddling in the muddy sand flats on Skegness beach. Good for the skin despite what you may think!
